On Monday afternoon, I went back into the kitchen to prepare muffins for my colleagues the next day. I tried the recipe by Virginie from the blog “Ca ne sent pas un peu le brûlé là?” as it was also an opportunity to take part in a little competition she’s organising. You just have to choose a recipe from her blog to reproduce, and I fell for the Nutella muffins with a Nutella centre.
As you’ll have gathered, if you don’t like Nutella, you can also use your favourite spread or make it yourself! In any case, I found them delicious! My colleagues too, I think!
Ingredients & preparation
1 component · Full recipe
Muffin Batter
- 125 g (4.4 oz) butter
- 300 g (10.6 oz) plain flour
- 120 g (4.2 oz) sugar
- 2 eggs
- 10 cl (3.4 fl oz) milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 130 g (4.6 oz) Nutella + 1 teaspoon per muffin
Preheat the oven to 200°C / 400°F.
Melt the butter in the microwave.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar and baking powder.
In a separate bowl, mix the eggs with the milk and melted butter.
Pour the wet mixture over the dry mixture and stir with a spoon, being careful not to overwork the batter.
Add the Nutella and mix again.
Spoon a little batter into 18 muffin tins lined with paper cases (tip: use an ice cream scoop to portion out the batter — it’s much more practical!). Add a teaspoon of Nutella. Cover with more batter, filling the cases to 3/4 full.
Place in the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
